The company operating the vending machines will try to supply food products by minimising the use of packaging (in any case, this should be made of recycled plastic), especially avoiding polyethylene.
- 12.2.6. The use of disposable items is minimised.
The tender for the cafeteria service contract stipulates that the successful bidder must replace single-use containers (soft drinks and water) with returnable glass containers. As well as eliminating the use of single-use paper or plastic cups and using glass beakers.
- 12.2.7 These policies extend to outsourced services and the supply chain such as cafeteria and vending machine contracts.
- 12.2.8 These policies extend to construction contracts, e.g. the tendering contract for the construction of a new building and the tendering contract for work on photovoltaic installations for self-consumption on the roof of buildings for the faculty of biological and environmental sciences, the faculty of veterinary sciences and the veterinary clinic.
- 12.3.1 The amount of waste generated and recycled across the University of Leon is measured.
