Terrestrial ecosystems, such as forests or mountains, are the main source of food, provide clean air and water, and constitute the habitat of millions of animal and plant species, in addition to offering numerous environmental services necessary for humanity.
Universities must take care of the life of terrestrial ecosystems to combat desertification and deforestation and preserve terrestrial habitats, implementing environmental management systems that prevent and minimize the impact of university activities on terrestrial ecosystems and biodiversity.
